Correction (August 2026): An earlier version of this guide described Axiom as a rebrand of Photon. That was wrong. Axiom and Photon are separate platforms built by separate teams, and they compete with each other. We’ve rewritten the guide from scratch. Sorry for the confusion, and if you quoted the old version somewhere, please update it.
Introduction
If you traded Solana meme coins in the last eighteen months, you watched Axiom go from “another trading terminal” to the biggest platform in the category. It out-executed Photon, survived the fee war, and by mid-2026 sits clearly on top of the volume charts.
This guide covers what Axiom actually is, how to set it up, what the fees look like, and whether it deserves a spot in your stack next to GMGN.
What is Axiom?
Axiom (axiom.trade) is a web-based trading platform for Solana meme coins, built by a Y Combinator-backed team and launched in late 2024. It is not a Telegram bot. There are no /buy commands. Everything happens in a browser interface that looks closer to a real trading terminal than to the chat-based bots this market grew up on.
The pitch is speed plus consolidation: token discovery, execution, wallet tracking, and even perps trading in one tab, instead of juggling a screener, a Telegram bot, and a charting site.
Axiom’s 2026 market position
The numbers are hard to argue with:
| Metric | Figure |
|---|---|
| Solana bot trading volume share (mid-2026) | ~60-70% |
| Lifetime trading volume | $20.5B+ |
| Lifetime revenue | $200M+ (fastest app on record to reach it) |
| Daily fees (July 2026, active day) | ~$1.75M, top-10 protocol by fees |
| Order execution time | Under 0.4 seconds |
That growth came at competitors’ expense. Photon’s share fell from around 30% in early 2025 to under 10%, and the category fractured into a fee war across Trojan, Maestro, Banana Gun, GMGN, Photon, Padre and others rather than consolidating. Axiom got its edge from colocated nodes and routing built to land orders faster than a full Solana block, which is what matters on contested launches.
One caveat worth keeping honest: Axiom’s multi-chain execution is narrower at the infrastructure level than the polished interface suggests. Solana is where it’s strongest.
Axiom and Photon are not the same product
Worth clearing up, because search results (including, embarrassingly, the old version of this page) mix them up.
Photon is TinyAstro’s trading platform. It was the volume king of 2024. Axiom is a different company that launched later and took most of Photon’s market share during 2025 and 2026. Your Photon account does not log into Axiom, your settings do not carry over, and the teams are unrelated.
If you’re a Photon user thinking about trying Axiom, you’re not upgrading. You’re switching to a competitor, with a fresh wallet and a fresh setup.
Setup guide
Getting started takes a few minutes.
Step 1: Create an account. Go to axiom.trade/@memegate and sign up. Signing up through a referral link gives you a discount on trading fees, and yes, that one is ours.
Step 2: Set up your trading wallet. Axiom generates a trading wallet for you. Treat it like any bot wallet: it’s a hot wallet, so only fund it with what you’re actively trading. Never import the private key of a wallet that holds your long-term bags. Export the trading wallet’s key and store it somewhere offline in case you lose account access.
Step 3: Fund it. Send SOL to the trading wallet address. You need SOL for buys, network fees, and priority fees. 0.5-2 SOL is plenty while you learn the interface.
Step 4: Check your settings before your first trade. Default slippage, priority fee level, and MEV protection mode all live in settings. Two minutes here saves you from a sandwich attack or a failed transaction on your first snipe.
Key features
Pulse: token discovery
Pulse is Axiom’s discovery screen. It shows new pairs as they launch, tokens in the “final stretch” of their Pump.fun bonding curve, and fresh Raydium migrations, with liquidity and holder data next to each. It replaces the separate screener tab most traders used to keep open. This is the feature Axiom users tend to miss most when they use anything else.
Execution
Market orders, limit orders, and one-click buys from any token page, with order execution under 0.4 seconds — faster than a full Solana block. Execution speed is the reason Axiom won its market share war. In busy launches it lands transactions consistently near the front of the queue, which is the entire game when a token does its first 10x in twenty minutes.
Wallet and social tracking
You can track specific wallets and get notified when they trade, and Axiom also surfaces what’s moving on X alongside token data. The tracking tools are decent but thinner than GMGN’s. If wallet intel is the core of your strategy, GMGN is still the better tool for that specific job (our GMGN copy trading guide covers how traders actually use it).
Hyperliquid perps
Axiom integrates Hyperliquid perpetuals up to 50x leverage, so you can short or leverage majors from the same account you snipe memes with. No other platform in this category has this built in. Whether combining 50x leverage with meme coin habits is good for your account balance is a separate question.
MEV protection
Transactions route through private channels to avoid sandwich attacks, with a speed-versus-privacy setting you control. Read our MEV protection guide for why this matters on every Solana trade, not just snipes.
Staking
You can stake SOL with Axiom’s validator or hold axiSOL, their liquid staking token. Nice to have for idle balance, not a reason to pick the platform.
Fees
Axiom runs a tiered fee model with SOL cashback, which is unusual in a market where almost everyone charges a flat 1%.
- Trading fee starts around 0.95% net at the entry tier (Wood) and steps down to about 0.75% at the top tier (Champion) as your volume climbs
- Each tier earns SOL cashback on fees, from 0.05% up to 0.25%
- Priority fees and optional bribes go to validators, not Axiom. Default is around 0.001 SOL, and you control it
- No subscription, no premium tier
Signing up through a referral link reduces the trading fee further. For an active trader the difference between Axiom’s effective rate and a flat 1% platform is real money over a month, which we break down in our GMGN fees article.
Axiom vs GMGN (and what happened to BullX)
| Feature | Axiom | GMGN |
|---|---|---|
| Platform | Web | Web + Telegram |
| Execution speed | Excellent | Good |
| Token discovery | Best in class (Pulse) | Good |
| Smart money tracking | Basic | Best in class |
| Copy trading | Limited | Best in class |
| Perps | Hyperliquid, up to 50x | No |
| Fee | 0.75-0.95% tiered + cashback | 1% flat |
A note on BullX: it has been offline since June 1, 2026, with no announced return. When it was running it had arguably the cleanest web interface in the space and the broadest chain support. Until it comes back, treat it as a historical reference, not an option — the Axiom vs BullX breakdown has the full timeline.
The working stack as of August 2026 is two tools, not three:
- Axiom for sniping and fast execution on new launches
- GMGN for smart money tracking, copy trading, and its Agent Skills automation (see the Agent Skills guide)
Axiom wins on execution, discovery, and fees. GMGN wins on data and copy trading. Together they cover the two things that matter: finding the trade and landing it.
Is Axiom worth using?
If you’re on Photon: Axiom is where most of Photon’s former users went, for execution speed alone. Set it up as a secondary, test it on a few live launches, and see if the speed difference shows up in your fills.
If you’re on GMGN and happy: keep it. Axiom makes sense as the execution layer next to GMGN’s data tools, and the fee tiers mean it gets cheaper the more you use it, which flat-fee platforms can’t say.
If you’re new to all of this: Axiom’s interface is the easiest to learn in the category, and the best bots comparison covers the full field. Read how to safely use meme trading bots before you fund anything.
